Couches for Avenue Magazine

I illustrated a few different types of couches for Avenue Magazine’s February issue. I now know exactly what a chesterfield is! My Grandma used it to describe every couch, when she in fact had a mid-century modern sofa, not a chesterfield. You learn something new every day.

Foxhounds

Here are a bunch of new pieces. I went through a couple weeks lately where I needed to flex the compositional muscles. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy drawing for Papillon Press cards but it’s also nice to get some actual backgrounds in some illustrations.

Victorian Lady

I love drawing ladies in costume. I always hear about artists setting goals for themselves of one drawing a day, whatever the theme is, and I feel like drawing one Victorian lady a day is something I could really get behind and motivate myself to do…maybe  😉
